It's a cracking little place, we stayed as we took our kids to the polar express. The room was large, clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was very tasty and although we only seen 1 member of staff during our whole visit, he was very friendly andhelpful. I will say taxis are almost impossible to get in the area so either pre book or drive. The beer on tap was very nice

Lovely place to say !!! Stayed for one night and went in some lovely walks. The rooms were more than spacious and the breakfast was lovely. We had a few drinks in the bar after a long walk, the owner even drew us a map !!. Locals very friendly and food was very nice !!!!!

We stayed here for an overnight stop on our way up North. We had a warm and friendly welcome. Our room was large and comfortable. Our evening meal from the good pub menu was excellent . The pub had a great atmosphere, friendly and lively. Good breakfast choice, although we just had cereal. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed 4 nights at The Greyhound.Very comfortable accommodation and excellent meals as we ate in each evening as they were so good with lots of choices.Substantial breakfasts and a good choice and freshly cooked.Steve is a very friendly and welcoming host and has a good knowledge of the area.This is purely a comment but it would be helpful if there was a light on the wall behind the sofa in Room 1 as the main light is not in a position for reading at night when sitting on the sofa either that or move the sofa to the bottom of the bed. Thank you Steve for giving us such an enjoyable four days and we would thoroughly recommend the Greyhound without hesitation.

We have stayed here a few times, en route to East Anglia.The rooms are comfortable and clean.The food is good, including the breakfast, with options. The staff are welcoming, and the bar has a friendly atmosphere. The inn is in a quiet village, although only a few miles from the motorway. What's not to like?

As with our visit in December, everything about our stay in August was just as we'd have hoped for. Spaceous family room with space for the dog, good food (dinner and breakfast) and a great atmosphere in the bar with impromptu entertainment.And when we realised we'd left a child's toy in the bedroom Steve was ultra helpful, keeping the item until we were able to collect it on our way home three weeks later.We'll be back!

Fantastic stay and great food and drink the staff only want to please their guests in every department they achieved it for our stay. Steve gives great information about what is on in the area and his directions work extremely well. Food is terrific, we had cooked breakfast the bacon and sausage were great, dinner the dishes we had were superb. Definitely worth a stay I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

Lovely little village hotel in Hackforth.Bedroom was comfortable and had all anyone could need for a short stay. Had a super stay @ The Greyhound Inn on 21.08.23. Check in was super easy, directly at the bar and the simple breakfast choice card really convenient. Received a friendly welcome from Steve who was very helpful & informative. Our room was spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. Tea,coffee & bottled water were provided.There was a varied breakfast menu including traditional which was nicely cooked & tasty. We also had a very enjoyable evening meal the night before.We will be returning when next in the area.

Friendly and helpful staff - nice ambiance in the bar - Good range of dishes on the menu which are realistically priced and cooked very well.Our room [No 4] was spacious with a double and single bed a couch/bed. The only problem is there are no chairs and a small table would have been useful. Bathroom is a little tight for space but the shower is a good size.No instruction on how to operate the tv [none seem to operate in the same way] - not too much of a problem for us as we were tired from a days travel.

The Greyhound Inn surprised us both.From the outside it looks a little bit tired, but inside it was lovely.The bedroom was huge with a double bed and a couch and two big windows.The breakfasting room was lovely, clean and nicely decorated.We ate both nights in the bar as we had the dog.The food was good quality and reasonably priced.Steve the owner was brilliant, so friendly but also professional, and anticipating your every need

We’ve stayed at the Greyhound for 3 days and we must say we wherehappy that we made this choice.By arrival we where friendly greeted and helped by a team who made us feel very welcom.A cosy bar for drinks and very good food where the locals and visitors mix.The room was cosy, clean and spacious.The shower box was a little bit tiny for my man but overall a nice hot shower. Steve was the perfect host for my week at the Greyhound, excellent service and the friendly personal touch was excellent. The room was massive with wonderful comfy bed, spacious and clean bathroom and plenty of refreshments regularly topped up (with obligatory Yorkshire Tea of course). Meals in the bar restaurant were well priced and all excellent, I ate there 5 nights out of 5, thoroughly recommend the pork tenderloin. Booked for x 3 nights, it in a lovely village location, close to all the major road links close to all the major city’s and towns, the room was beautifully furnished.Great on-suit bathroom, one of the cleanest nicest rooms I have ever stayed in, I used to spent 3x nights a week in hotel rooms.The breakfast was great, all the normal items (ordered the night before)but all excellent quality the black pudding and sausages were great.The room, Bathroom, tea coffee, water, books, everything added to make your stay special.My wife loved all little extra touches, we invited some friends for an evening meal, brilliant steak on a special steak night.That would be enough for most stays, but you have to mention the beer is this pub isexceptional, three great beers, very well kept, the locales were very friendly and chatty.Don’t mess about boos direct and enjoy the great food and the brilliant beerOne of our best stays ever, the owner was on hand at all times to make sure everything was OK, lovely chap.(Did I mention the beer)Go and enjoy you will not be disappointedPhil

This is a village pub, not a big hotel, so naturally it has some limitations.Nevertheless, the Greyhound is a really nice pub with good beer and an extremely friendly and welcoming landlord.The place is very clean and the food great - both evening meal and breakfast.I would have no hesitation staying there again if I'm in the area.Recommended.

We booked just one night. We found the welcome warm and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Both dinner and breakfast were freshly cooked, and just the job. We had our small dog with us. Our room was generous in size and comfortable and clean and as hoped! We would certainly stay again.

Our 3rd visit and we have not been disappointed. Steve and the team provide a warm and friendly welcome to a great location for exploring the area. This characterful pub offers very comfortable dog friendly accommodation and great food in a lovely, small Yorkshire residential village of Hackforth. The fabulous breakfast selection (locally sourced) will set you up for the day, however you spend your time. Evening meals are served in either the dog friendly bar or cosy restaurant. Rooms are spacious, bright and warm and we can vouch for the bed in room 1 - you will sleep very well!

We had two separate overnight stays on the way to and from East Anglia. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable with bottled water and tea and coffee making facilities provided.We had dinner and breakfast both times - good food witha good choice. The breakfast coffee was excellent.We had our dog with us; the pub is dog friendly.This is a friendly and welcoming pub in a lovely quiet location. Although it is on the edge of a rural village, it is not far from the A1 and A66.

We had a three night stay at The Greyhound Inn. Steve is Jack of all trades and master of them all. The perfect Landlord, always upbeat, very hard working and cooks a great breakfast. The beer was excellent with three real ales on hand pump. The food each night was top quality, the best steak and ale pie I've ever had and I have had a few! The room was spotlessly clean, as was everything else. Wholly recommended by us, and we will be back.

We stayed for 3 nights in August with our Cockapoo. The Greyhound is perfect for couples or small families who want a chilling break in the Dales.(with or without the pooch) The room was was large, clean, well furnished and comfortable. We ate each evening at the Inn and the menu was varied with choices to suit all tastes. The food was well presented and delicious. We were lucky enough to be there on the night of the monthly Folk/Country jam session night. Wonderful! The locals were extremely friendly and funny and we had a great night. A special mention must be made for the staff, who were all friendly and helpful, especially Steve, the manager, who was ever present and well organised. Arranged the booking direct with Steve the owner which was great value and seamless. Regular contact and good advice.On arrival, easy check in and afforded 3 rooms for our family party. Rooms were spacious and very clean and the Inn is located in a quiet village.Stayed 3 nights and the wedding was on day 2. Arrived back after 1am and let ourselves inBreakfasts are requested via a tick sheet so you can decide what you want and don’t want. Steve did a cracking job cooking for 8 of us each of the 3 mornings and portions were plentiful and food was very tasty.Steve is a really friendly and helpful host and nothing was a trouble to him. A real gem of a bloke.I would recommend staying here if you are in the Catterick, Bedale or North Allerton area as travel is easy into nearby Richmond or further afield via the nearby A1A big thank you to Steve once again from all my family- we had a brilliant visit and shall bear you in mind for the future as our son has set up home not far from Hackforth.Cheers and see you soon.

Stayed for two nights to break our journey after a holiday in Orkney, Steve is an excellent host and he and his team made us very welcome. The food is excellent, well priced and generous portions. Our room was large and airey, and we slept well with virtually no road noise to disturb us in this quiet village. We had a great stay - we had the family room which was a lovely big room and beautifully furnished. We travelled by bike and Steve was really helpful in providing us a safe place to store our bikes overnight. Very welcoming, very clean, very comfortable and lovely food available. I was in the blue family room, beautifully decorated.I have a few very small criticisms and that would be the door to bathroom opening into the bathroom makes it feel very tight to turn and makes it feel small. It also needs a shelf to the right of sink for us ladies who need a spot for their toiletries and wash bag.

We stayed for three nights in room No 1 which was very spacious and clean.Steve the landlord made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.We ate there all three nights and the food was excellent, as were the breakfasts.As an added bonus we enjoyed the music night which they hold every month.Would certainly recommend and will return as the area has several attractions, we particularly loved the James Herriot museum in Thirsk.

A lovely country pub, a good selection of ales, food and portions absolutely spot on. Very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are very nicely prepared and very clean too. We stayed at the greyhound inn as we were to experience the polar express. We called earlier on in the day to check if we could have an early check in and the owner couldn’t more accommodating. We had drinks before and after our event and the staff were amazing. We had breakfast the next day which was perfect just what we needed the morning after a few beers. I never asked the chaps name who ran the place but he was one of the nicest people we’ve come across. We hope to stay here again in the future. We also had a few conversations with locals from the village and such pleasant people. Thanks again Katie Siddall and family.

We have stayed at The Greyhound before, hence our rebooking.This should have been our 5th overnight stay but Covid and room spaces reduced that.This is an excellent place to stay, the warmth of the welcome, good food and comfortable rooms (dog friendly too) will ensure that we will make it a 4th time!Steve and his team do go out of their way to make you feel part of a very friendly pub.It is too far to travel to make this our local although I would if I could.

We were very happy with the room we were allocated. It was spacious with lots of storage. Having a wee explanation of how to work the TV really helped: a lot of the big chains assume you do not need this but each machine is so individual that you do!!We had dinner as well as breakfast and were glad we did so. Quality food very well prepared. Again such a difference from the large and bland chains.All of this and very friendly helpful staff: a great experience and we will return.

We spent three nights with our two dogs in room 1. Steve was the perfect host from arrival to departure. Our room was large & well equipped. The breakfast each morning was one of the best (if not the best) that we have ever had. Unfortunately we only had one evening meal but it was excellent & wish that we had eaten here the two previous nights. We will definitely be returning.

Had a great weekend here with our little dog Lola. The staff were very friendly and made us feel at home.Our room was gorgeous, we were really happy with everything, you couldn't of asked for more. Second time I have stayed at the Greyhound Inn would have been more if it was not booked up when I tried to book.The Greyhound Inn is great, lovely bar, good restaurant and very comfortable large bedrooms.The food is very good with a varied choice as well as some special evenings like Pie & Pint night.Would certainly recommend for anyone visiting this area or just passing through going north or south.Steve and the crew are great offering friendly professional service.

On our motoring tour this month we stayed at a number of various hotels and guest houses, and found the Greyhound to be one of the best. The owner was friendly and efficient, the food was very good, the room and the facilities top rate. Would recommend it to anyone. Location was quiet and pleasant, but handy for Bedale.

Very friendly staff, endlessly accommodating. Food was superb. A charity kitchen take over was going on noisily but we were given a quiet table in the breakfast room and ate from the a la carte menu. Lively bar (it was Saturday night). Room very clean and comfortable.

We visited for my birthday for an overnight stay. The welcome was very warm and friendly. The room was really nice and spotlessly clean. A well stocked bar and a lovely meal, I had steak which was cooked just as I’d asked.The breakfast was spot on, all the usual favourites, my poached eggs were perfect and fried bread nice and crispy.Would definitely return and recommend, we’ll done to you all and the lovely staff who were great with our 3 year old grandson thanks !!

What a great, relaxing place to stay. I wish it had been more than one no light. An excellent welcome, exceptionally spacious room for a single occupant. Relaxed evening meal with a variety of locations inside and outside all clean and tidy, spotless in fact. Food was very tasty indeed and excellent value for money. Breakfast equally good. We have just arrived home after a weekend in Yorkshire for a friend’s birthday. I booked a family room for myself, my wife and our two young children. On arrival the staff were extremely welcoming and helped me with all the luggage that goes with a weekend break, when travelling with children.We arrived quite late and were advised that it was approaching the time that the kitchen was due to close. The menu had a good range of options and we were not disappointed by the quality of the food, especially my 7 year old son, who loved the pizza!During our stay, nothing was too much trouble for Steve and the team and the room was extremely clean and well presented. It was ample size for the four of us, with a double bed, single bed and a cot. There was also room for a pull out bed but that wasn’t needed.I would highly recommend the Greyhound for anyone looking for a relaxing get away.My sincere thanks to Steve and team!

We stopped at the Greyhound on our way back from Scotland to Birmingham. The room was large and well appointed. The pub had been sensitively refurbished and gave a very good impression. We had steak for dinner and it was very good indeed and great value. The service was very attentive. All in all an excellent stay and to be recommended

A very welcoming and friendly host is Steve. He makes you feel at home. We stayed for 3 nights and had excellent choice for breakfast. He does evening meals with theme nights ( e.g. steak andpies), so you have a good choice even from the normal menu. In addition a very sociable group of regulars in the bar make you very welcome. We stayed on 12th June whilst visiting family. We had the family room which is extremely spacious, clean and comfortable. We all slept great it was so quiet and good quality beds which is wonderful. The breakfast next morning was superb a full english cooked to perfection. And a range of cereal and juices. The front of house gentleman was so friendly and helpful and we would highly recommend the grey hound to others we will most certainly stay again when we visit family.

This is the second time that my husband and I enjoyed a stay at The Greyhound Inn and it was absolutely lovely again. Steve is very friendly and welcoming, his rooms are spotlessly clean and the food is excellentBreakfast was included in our room rate and it was delicious. We also used the restaurant twice and again, great menu choices and really good food. Steve works really hard to ensure his customers have a good stay. Really nice pub/hotel. Food was simple but good - think really really good pub food. Rooms comfortable and quiet, although shower was a bit of a squeeze in the room we were in.Super friendly landlord who was always there on call, nothing too much trouble.Highly recommended.

We have recently returned from our third visit to the Greyhound. A break was needed after the long hard lockdown & we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights, we ate both breakfast & dinner every day as well as enjoying drinks at the bar, all of which were delicious. We only stayed 1 night as we were looking for somewhere local to family.We were very impressed with our whole experience.Steve was welcoming and friendly.Good precautions were taken to ensure we comply with Covid rules so we felt safe and comfortable.Our room was spacious, light and airy with everything we needed.We also had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent.3 of the party chose sirloin steak, one had the lemon, Parmesan and pea risottoand another the mac and cheese crayfish pasta.All was really delicious.We would thoroughly recommend the Greyhound.Good idea to make a reservation as they seem to be very busy.

We stayed overnight whilst travelling to Newcastle & were treated to a lovely welcome. Staying during COVID regulations is different, but the measures in place meant we felt safe, whilst not getting in the way of enjoying our stay.The evening meal & breakfast were both delicious, freshly cooked & really good quality. Really nice place to eat & sleep. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Food & drink is fantastic with a great choice for everybody. Very reasonable prices as well.The room we stayed in was very nicely decorated and extremely comfortable, warm and clean throughout. Social distancing and extra cleaning measures are obviously taken very seriously at this accommodation which enables it to run as normal as possible.Can’t say enough great things about this fantastic place.

Checked in at 4PM and allocated a lovely spacious very comfortable room . The cooked breakfast was perfect and lots of it . We ate in the restaurant in the 2nd night and the food was really nice ,we had fish and chips and steak pie . Puddings were just as good . We had to be in the area for one night to meet up with family and the Greyhound proved to be an excellent choice.Very comfortable, and felt very safe (in these covid times), and the service was first class, providing us with what we wanted beyond the normal B&B. Such a friendly Inn to stay , accommodation was perfect for us and our little Border terrier. Clean , warm and comfortable. Decor very tidy. We stayed at The Greyhound for one night visiting family nearby and had an excellent dinner and breakfast. The rooms were very clean, beautifully decorated and so comfortable and cosy. All safety measures for Covid purposes were in place and adhered to. Staff were all very welcoming and and accommodating and the pub is traditional but modern. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit the surrounding area or just for a very peaceful getaway.

Having spent the last 2 nights we wanted to let everybody know how lovely our stay was. Steve is such a nice guy, friendly, professional... nothing is too much trouble. Steve and all his staff (Team) do a great job in ensuring that all guests are happy. The food is excellent. Harry was our waiter on Friday night... such a confident lovely local lad The Chefs and all staff work hard to produce gorgeous food for all. It’s a great local pub too with locals being really friendly too. Steve and Jo keep things ticking over behind the bar and ensure everyone stays safe too. The room was very nicely decorated and fitted out with lovely fixtures with gorgeous en suite shower. We will certainly be back . We returned to the Greyhound after 2 years & were very impressed with the improvements made to the decor & refurbished rooms which are spacious & well appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed the food (and drink!) during our first stay, & this has remained excellent & great value. Steve & team have worked hard since reopening to ensure that all guests are safe & secure and we felt that the measures in place are thorough without deterring from the enjoyment of our stay. The Greyhound was a wonderful find after a long day walking our dogs in the Dales. Very welcoming, the room was large and spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had drinks and a lovely meal which was reasonable and excellent. There is a good choice of wine on the menu and the gin and rum menus are amazing! Our two dogs were made very welcome, the staff are friendly and engaging and we wouldn't hesitate to return. Thanks for having us!

Couldn't have been made to feel anymore welcome. All staff were friendly. Steve and the team are doing a great job. Room was spacious and very clean. Asked for extra milk for tea and coffee and was given this straight away. The only hitch we had was that our key snapped in the lock of the room, all sorted immediately, had a few laughs as well. Breakfast was what we ordered and set us up for the day. Would recommend.

We stayed for 3 nights wished it could have been more. We loved everything about it. It was so easy to find, a few mins from the A1, but you'd never know it, it seems your deep in the countryside, no noise at all. You get the odd few farm machinery passing by and a few cars but nothing heavy. The location is so handy if you are travelling the Dales and Moors, beautiful Richmond a few minutes drive away, we even went to windermere only an hour away. And lovely Hawes,so location is spot on. The breakfasts, Sunday lunch and evening meals were all superb. The our room (1) was welcoming, spacious and fresh, we had great nights sleep, no road noise. Very calming room. The bar and breakfast room and restaurant area are lovely with a relaxed feel to them. Steve the owner is the nicest guy and nothing is too much trouble. We can't wait to go back. We had a warm welcome at the Greyhound Inn from Steve and the whole village.We were really impressed with the Covid measures that had been put in place to keep everyone safe.The rooms were fresh and bright and much bigger than we were expecting.The food was delicious - especially the breakfasts.It was a perfect overnight stop on the way to Scotland for our family with teenage children.We were pleased that Gertie our big dog was made so welcome (and that she behaved herself on her first stop over in an Inn!).Thank you very much for a great stay.It couldn't have been better.

Friendly, good beer (and gin), good food and a comfortable bed. I travel a lot for work and it’s often difficult to find these qualities, the Greyhound Inn has them in spades.Nothing is too much trouble. I will always try and stay here when I’m working in the North East

Very surprised at the room size, newly and tastefully refurbished, comfy bed, Shame we didn't get to try the restaurant, but really enjoyed the breakfast and stay, would highly recommend and use again.

We were made very welcome and enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast very much. Slept well in a bright, spacious & comfortable family room. The inn is in a lovely rural setting but not far from the A1 - would highly recommend.

The new owner is moving quickly to upgrade this charming, individual pub/B&B.Though the pub is busy, it does not impinge on overnight guests to this quiet village just a few miles off the main drag.Good food and a very sound, comfortable night's sleep - a far better choice than one of the chain motels.

We decided to visit the York Christmas Markets and wanted to stay somewhere local. We had been recommended The Greyhound by friends, after visiting we couldnt thank them enough. Excellent home cooked food with a great choice. Fantastic chips too. Board games for the kids,well kept ales, wood burning stove and friendly locals. Clean, tidy and warm rooms, comfy beds and a hearty full English breakfast in the morning. Great place with great staff, we'll certainly be back!

Friendly bar atmosphere andtasty home cooked meals both for bar supper and breakfast.Bedroom was large , with a good heater and TV .Room was a bit sparse -a small sofa but no chair.Basic tea and coffee supplied with a kettle. Electro shower was poor- either freezing or scalding hot.

My dog and I felt a very warm welcome to this friendly pub in a beautiful rural location. The room and bed were very comfortable and clean with good wifi signal and a good en suite shower room. From the booking through to arriving and staying at the Greyhound Inn everything was a delight. The owner/manager, Steve, was incredibly friendly and helpful. A big thing is that the Inn is very dog friendly so that was a big issue for us. The rooms are delightfully decorated and en suite. The dinning room serves a wonderful selection of food and it is delicious. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a home from home.

We really enjoyed our overnight stay at the Greyhound Inn. Usual Yorkshire hospitality and a good pint in the bar down stairs. We ate in Bedale and kind of regret it as the Inn's food looked fab with generous portions - next time hopefully.We were in room 1 which was big and spacious.Breakfast was excellent with fresh local quality ingredients used in the cooked food.First visit to the Greyhound, I understand a new manager has taken over a few weeks ago. Deserves to do well based on this visit.

My husband, daughter, son-in-law, two dogs and myself stayed at The Greyhound Inn for a couple of nights.We chose it as it was a perfect place between where we all live.We were given a warm welcome on arrival by Steve & shown to our rooms.They were both large double rooms with en-suite facilities.The bed was very comfortable, there was tea & coffee making facilities, plenty of toiletries, in fact everything you needed.Breakfast was amazing, fruit juice, tea & coffee, fresh fruit, cereals, followed by a full english or omelette.You really didn't need to eat again until the evening!The dogs were made to feel welcome too.We would certainly recommend the Inn to anyone looking to stay in the area, we wish Steve the very best of luck in his new venture & thank you for a relaxing stay.

Stayed for one night after a dog show and before driving on to another show next morning. We were made very welcome and appreciated our lovely room with an extremely comfortable bed. Our Border Terriers were also made most welcome and enjoyed meeting Ossie the resident black Labrador. We enjoyed a superb meal in the bar in the evening. It was really nice meeting the friendly locals. We will be back !

Stayed for two nights and also had two evening meals. Our room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. There was a good breakfast with fresh fruit and full English to order. Wa enjoyed two excellent meals in the evening, once in the restaurant and once in the bar area. There is a wide choice of food on the menu including vegetarian and some excellent wines and local beer. Staff were friendly at all times. Would definitely stay again if visiting this part of the dales.

Very comfortable room, welcoming staff, lovely food and best of all dog friendly. Very relaxing after a long journey. Lovely quiet village location but obviously a local favourite also. Always a sign of a good establishment. Don't hesitate to visit.

We had a very pleasant stop off at The Greyhound on the way up to Scotland. The staff were all very welcoming and we had a pleasant surprise finding live folk music in the bar. The room was superb and breakfast excellent.

Just returned from a one night stay, really nicely furnished comfortable rooms. Our family had three rooms and we all enjoyed our stay.Really lovely cooked breakfast set us up for the day.We also had an evening meal which was really good, so much choice on the menu it was hard to choose. Also loved the dog, made it feel really homely.

This is the 4th time we have stayed here while visiting family and friends. Lovely place, comfortable rooms, good food and excellent breakfast. Nothing too much trouble and our dog came to. See you soon

Great rooms - great price.

We stayed at The Greyhound as a half way point on the way to Scotland. It's about ten minutes off the A1 in a perfect location. Food is good, the cost is great value and the company in the bar is convivial. We were travelling with our dog who was made very welcome.

The hotel was great the food the service and the staff were fabulous, all that was wrong was the housekeepings attention to detail. The towels never got changed and the bed never got made during our 4 night stay, we had to ask for milk every day as that didn't get replenished. There were a few cleaning issues, cobwebs etc but overall a great hotel.

This traditional country inn is just great, very comfortable, spacious rooms and beds, a first class chef, must be the best pieman in Yorkshire, a welcoming landlord, spacious bar with all the facilities you need.

WE had a lovely evening in the pub, good food and friendly company. Great to see so many dogs! The veggie moussaka needs aubergine though. Great room, very comfortable . I stayed at the Grehound whilst back in Yorkshire on family business.Mike and his team made me welcome from the start, the room was spacious and comfortable with a good shower.The food was excellent pup grub, well worth a visit for on it's own, and the breakfast was all anyone could wish for.The bar is friendly and welcoming with good Yorkshire beers to boot. If you time it right you may get to see a quoits match, the regulars told me the team was really quite good.

Stayed at The Greyhound in late April and enjoyed the experience. Comfortable surroundings, good food and friendly service. All we could ask for. We would stay again when in the area.

We had a lovely room with an old charm feel to it. The shower room was small but functional. We appreciated the welcome for dogs and that ours could sleep in our room and that we could also have breakfast and supperin the bar area so she could be with us.

Mike the gaffer was on hols.brianand jo were brilliant with their hospitality, and of course brians cooking.Will be back next year @!!

Just spend a night at The Greyhound Inn on route to Newcastle. Had a lovely spacious room with ensuite. Really comfortable and well equiped. Owner was Very friendly and helpful. We had an excellent evening meal at a very reasonable price and the following morning breakfast was superb,Would not hesitate to return.

This was a very impulsive decision to have a weekend away and we found a little gem. It's in a beautiful area and the staff were very friendly. The inn is very well kept and lovely and clean. The room was great, well kept very clean and everything you could wish for. We had 2 evening meals which were delicious and the full breakfast was just the thing to start the day off. I booked to stay in the Greyhound Inn for one night on relocating to a new home.I spent nine hours on the road after being stuck in horrendous traffic. On arrival they informed me that on making my reservation I had booked the night before and not the day I arrived! The lovely lady had no problem with amending my booking, and giving me a room for the night.The room was lovely, extreamly comfy bed, very homely.I would highly recommend to anyone.

The greyhound provided a welcome stopover on our way north. Very welcoming with the added bonus for us that dogs were allowed. Choice of bar or restaurant for meals .menus to suit all tastes. As well as the staff local customers provided a great welcome.

The evening meal and the breakfast were both fine,the room was big and comfortable but unfortunately it could have been a lot cleaner.the sink,shower and toilet both appeared not to have been cleaned properly plus dog hairs on the bedding just left the night stay uncomfortable.

Great room with separate small lounge and on-suite bathroom. Very friendly owner and staff who serve excellent food. We really enjoyed our stay here and would use the Greyhound Inn again on a future trip to this area..
